Intelligent Computing Center 2.0 Era Outlook Report Released

On Jan. 10, the “Intelligent Computing Center: Practice and Outlook” symposium was held at National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, and Intelligent Computing Center 2.0 Era Outlook Report (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”) was released. As the research result of revealing the development path of the intelligent computing center in the industry, the Report clearly explains the characteristics, challenges and trends of the intelligent computing center in different development stages, which has practical guiding significance.

Huang Tiejun, professor of School of Computer Science of Peking University and president of Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, Shan Zhiguang, director of Information and Industrial Development Department of National Information Center, Duan Bingde, director of Information Research Department of Information Center of Development Research Center of the State Council, and Wu Jing, executive director of Advisory Research Center of Academic Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the symposium. In addition, Sugon, as a representative of the industry, was also invited to take part in the discussion, and gave ideas and countermeasures for the insights put forward in the Report.

As the key infrastructure to carry the computing capacity in the smart era, the intelligent computing center has entered a high-speed construction cycle driven by both policy and market, and its application prospects and enabling potential are gradually highlighted. Taking the 14th Five-Year Plan in 2022 and the successive introduction of industrial policies as the dividing point, the Report divides the development of the intelligent computing center into the 1.0 stage of high-speed expansion and the 2.0 stage of industry guidance. Through in-depth research, it analyzes the challenges highlighted in the construction, development and practical application of the 1.0 stage, and clarifies the construction direction and path of the 2.0 stage from relatively extensive expansion to detailed planning.

The Report points out that the intelligent computing center in the 2.0 stage should focus on the construction direction of computing power diversification, industrial collaboration, service integration, low energy consumption, price inclusion, advanced deployment, and technology credibility to achieve the aggregation of public computing services, data open sharing, industrial ecological innovation and other functions. By strengthening the cooperation of industrial chain, chips, algorithms, models, applications and other elements of different technological routes can achieve horizontal compatibility and vertical coupling, and ensure opening of overall architecture of the intelligent computing center and the supply of full precision multiple computing power, so as to improve the usability and versatility of the computing base.

With the elements characteristics in the 2.0 stage, the Report lists industrial demonstration examples, providing guidance for the intelligent computing center from building to using. Among them, Sugon 5A level intelligent computing center, immersion phase change liquid cooling technology, national integrated computing service platform and other program achievements are included and recognized by the industry.
